Hi Folks :-), I thought I'd give simplifying this 'thang' a bit of a whirl... The Overall Project It's pretty simple really...there! That's a good start :-) Butt seriously...in a nutshell it might well be described as a Sustainable Enterprise Development Project. I intend it to be a kind of hybrid commercial/social enterprise. The Draft Preliminary Discussion Brief will give you a few more broad brush-strokes, including key areas addressed.

What tha Hell has this got to do with Pizzas?

The guiding principles that I mentioned above are pretty much written in stone as far as I'm concerned. And it is likely that these will be the major sticking points. Why? Because enough is enough. Policies need to be established that support business logic rather than distorting and undermining it. The addiction to the current tiered government protection racket is not viable. That is not to say that I intend to be antagonistic toward the government...but as I have said too many times previously, it is not possible to establish 'sustainable' anything in an unsustainable context. Local energy must remain local, at least long enough for a surplus to be established and only then exported/transferred outside the bioregion. Accounting to government using reasonable protocols is fine, but starving an otherwise viable bioregion is simply no longer acceptable and this idea will simply no longer be this idea within such an energy drain.

Don’t for­get your change…

Along with our shared long term concerns, I have some that are a little more short-term. It would be great if suddenly we got all of the right leaders in the right places...but how long would it take for their effect to be realised using current paradigms? How long would it take and under what conditions would new paradigms be deemed acceptable to 'the mainstream'? And what happens in the interim? Only last year the President of the United States stated publicly that the Economic Paradigm that we have worked with for the past century has failed? What was our response? Business as usual? It would appear so. I’m have no doubts about humanity’s resilience following a crisis, I’m worried about the damage humanity will inflict on itself as a crisis approaches...or in this case, as the conditions of the crisis gradually intensify.

Dream­time II…

During that time Australia came out, with all the accompanying 'hoopla'; I thought, oh, screw that! It looks daggy. And 3 BLUDDY HOURS of it! No way Jose! So I assiduously avoided it. I figured, as with most movies, I'll wait for the DVD. "Don't eat that ya silly bugger!" "What?" "That? Gotta drink this first." No heat...but the desert blazed white orange, ochres and all the colours that are the Andegerebenha. Sky orange like a dark Amber crytal...but not heavy...bright & light and as open as a place without time. Air was moving and not...fresh, white...dry, sweet. Could smell water for miles. Red earth, green plants, white stuff and moisture...a piece of hair and a drop of blood...a paste...smells sweet. I put it on his forehead...I sing and dance, not forced..I'm sung and I'm danced like it's happening to me...like someone is moving me...no battle...feels normal. Paste on my forehead. A snake comes...a really big black one...it watches. I'm sung, and I'm danced. Days.

Blank Can­vas Contest…

Now this may surprise you almost as much as it does me... :-) I simply cannot remember the last time I entered any kind of contest...it's just not something I'm inclined to do. Actually, now that I think of it, I can remember one...about 22 years ago, myself and a few mates were really pissed at a beach-front hotel somewhere near Coffs Harbour. We were asked by some promoters if we could throw an act together for their talent contest, as they were short on entrants. We did...we won $5000.00 and got even more pissed :-)...so as you can see it's been a while...and this time, I'm completely sober :-) So why did I enter it?

Dream­time…

This post is dedicated to a good friend of mine (he'll know who he is :-) ), with whom I had a fine conversation upon the day of yester. Now I don't want you to think that I've gone all 'mung-bean suckin' hodad' on ya, but I am human. I do have dreams...it's just a long time since I have written them down as they are. Most of our dreams get translated into stuff like, well, every thing! But rarely do we just let our dreams speak as they are. Con­nec­tion­eer­ing…

Ok! I let my 'Ooh! I'm so original' fantasy live for a few minutes before I Googled 'connectioneering'. Once again I had 'nothing new under the Sun', unceremonioiusly shoved down my throat...but at least I didn't look it up first? :-) With Web2.0 sweating its way through her contractions, Web3.0 crowning and Google Waving furiously from the top of 'Mt Everything and to Hell with Contraception' (by invitation only), it seems that we are approaching and dealing with the subject of 'connections' as we do most other things in our humble little 'Civilised World'....Ha! You thought I was gunna say 'literally' didn't you? :-) I was talking with a good friend just last night...we were talking about among other things...
